Navigating the Interface
Last updated
We here at Haiper have tried our best to make the AI video experience as simple and stress free as possible. No "git requests" in the terminal, no confusing "--IW --AR" syntax, or fiddly discord text prompts, just clean UI and big ol' buttons. But that's not to say your first time using the interface is going to be smooth sailing.
So in this tutorial we're going to run through a little "how to" on operating the different interfaces (IOS App, Web App) using Haiper video gen.
Let's first take you through our primary platform for creating videos with the Haiper Web App. You can navigate there by following the link above, or by selecting "Creations" from the explore page.
Start off by typing anything you can imagine into the prompt window at the bottom of the screen, such as "a cat made of candy floss", or "a giant lizard sitting on the moon" and press "Create" to submit your prompt. It's as easy as that!
You are now creating AI videos! Try out a few more prompts, test out different colours, different animals, describe some things that could never possibly exist, like "a glass horse with wings flying over the moon", or "a jelly-like cat made of molten lava bubbling in a pool of water" go wild, and make sure to tag us in your favourite results when you share them online.
Okay, so obviously it doesn't quite finish there. There are different settings and creation modes to delve into.
To the left is your navigation for the Haiper website. From here you can find your favourites, the spotlight submission, links for X, Discord and more!
On the right side of the results display is the history section, where all generated results are showcased in thumbnail form. You can scroll to view your creation history and click on any thumbnail to access the corresponding generation.
Your generated videos are displayed front and centre, and have an array of options above and below. From left to right they are as follows:
Find video info (Found by selecting the ">" on the right side of the dialog box).
Regenerate your video with the same image, but a different motion.
Regenerate your video with a varied prompt.
Edit part of your video by sending it directly to the repaint function.
Delete, and edit the view permissions of your video with the additional options.
Up/Down vote your video.
Add your video to your "Favourite" collection.
Download your video
Share your video.
And finally the most important feature. Right at the bottom of the Creations page, is the prompt window! Where you will create your videos.
The settings are defaulted to two second videos with an aspect ratio of 16:9. To change this, you can select the two horizontal lines located just to the left of the create button. From the settings window there are several options available depending on the creation "mode" you are in. For text-to-video they are as follows:
Seed - The seed controls the randomness of your generation. Locking it into a specific value will help ensure repeatability, allowing you to reproduce specific outcomes. For more information on the primary settings for AI video generation check out "S"
Duration - The length of the video you would like to generate. Haiper currently offers 2 and 4 second generation.
Aspect Ratio - The width and height of the video you would like to generate. Haiper offers several popular aspect ratios for text-to-video 9:16 is perfect for mobile and social media. 21:9 will get you that ultra-wide cinematic look.
Right next to the settings is your privacy options, symbolised by a little eye. From here you can choose to have your generations be public, or private. Private generations will only be able to be seen by you. Public generations will be sharable via link and have the possibility of appearing on the explore page.
You may notice that different creation modes will have different options available. For example, Image-to-Video has no option for aspect ratio, as that is decided beforehand by the aspect ratio of your input image.
Text-to-Video is not the only form of creation Haiper offers, there is also Image-to-Video, and Video-to-Video! We can change our creation mode by selecting the "Creation Mode" button at the top of the screen, or by selecting the current modes symbol inside the prompt window. Look out for the icons below:
You can then select from the different modes available:
Create Video With Text - Describe any video you can imagine with text!
Animate Your Image - Upload your own image to bring them to life
Repaint Your Video - Change the style, color or subject in your video with text prompts
Extend Your Video - Upload your video and prompt what you'd like to happen next.
Image-to-video (also known as Animate Your Image) shares an almost identical interface to text-to-video, with one very important difference; Aspect ratio.
Since the image you'll upload already has it's own aspect ratio, the video model will first stretch it out to the nearest usable size before creating a video and stretching it back. Whilst the difference in quality is negligible, it's advised to always input your images at an aspect ratio from the sizes listed below:
This also means that Image-to-video generations can be any size and Haiper will handle the rest.
To upload your image, simply select the prompt window with the creation mode "Animate Your Image" active. An "Upload Image" graphic will appear. You can either drag and drop your image directly onto this graphic, or select the graphic to upload manually.
Video-to-Video (aka Repaint your Video) has one extra step after uploading your video (drag and drop, or manual upload) known as "Vary Region". The Vary Region feature will allow you to highlight specific areas in your videos first frame using the "+" to add areas and the "-" to subtract them. There are additional undo/redo options for your selection as well as a reset.
The area inside the highlighted area will be regenerated with whatever your prompt! Through clever prompting, we can even remove objects altogether.
The Haiper Webapp isn't the only place to create videos with Haipers AI. We also have an IOS app that features many of the same tools available on the Webapp. For a quick overview, read on!
You can download the Haiper App on the IOS App Store.
Open up the Haiper Video app and tap the large "+" at the bottom of your screen to open the "Creation Mode" window. Choose "Create Video with Text", and once the keyboard appears, you can start typing out your prompt. Don't overcomplicate things your first time around, try describing a shot from the last movie you saw, or imagine the last friend you saw as a muppet puppet. You can always get into styling your prompts and aiming for specific shots later on.
To submit your prompt, tap the "Generate" button located in the top right hand corner. Once it's been queued up, you can head back to the homepage. And there you have it, that was your first video generation on the Haiper IOS App, simple as that.
The settings are located in the prompt window, just like the webapp. It can be accessed after selecting your creation mode from the Creation Mode Window. From here we can adjust the following:
Seed - The randomness of your generation.
Duration - The length of the video you would like to generate.
Aspect Ratio - The width and height of the video you would like to generate.
For more information on the parameters for AI video generation check out our additional tutorial "Seeds, Aspect Ratio, and Duration".
Just like Text-to-Video, we start by opening up the Haiper Video app and tapping the large "+" at the bottom of the screen. From the Creation Mode window you can select "Animate Your Image". Your gallery will open, prompting you to choose from the images you would like to animate. Select the image, and once the keyboard appears, you can start tying out your prompt.
To submit your prompt, tap the "Generate" button located in the top right hand corner. Once it's been queued up, you can head back to the homepage.
Prompt Window (Video) Tap the "+" at the bottom of the app homepage to open the Creation Mode Window. From here you can select "Repaint your Video". Your gallery will open, prompting you to choose from the videos you would like to repaint. Select the video, and once the keyboard appears, you can start tying out your prompt.
To submit your prompt, tap the "Generate" button located in the top right hand corner. Once it's been queued up, you can head back to the homepage.
